The idea behind Evolve Sustainability

Incentives to drive. Data to understand. Technology to leverage.

Evolve Sustainability is an independent consultancy supporting companies to develop their business strategy by understanding the social and environmental impact in their supply chains.

Evolve is based on the belief that in order to transition from a business with a supply chain sustainability strategy to a strategy for a sustainable supply chain, companies need to adopt the perspectives of organisational development, effective use of data, and the technological possibilities for scalability.

Marcus Wilert, Evolve’s founder, applies his more than 12 years of experience of managing sustainability programs in supply chains to advance sustainable supply chains with a specific focus on data, technology, and organisational development. Having held management positions in H&M (Hong Kong and Shanghai), Waitrose, and Primark/ABF (London) with responsibility for responsible sourcing in China and Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, he has deep first-hand experience of navigating a range of institutional environments and cultures to deliver clarity and impact.

Marcus holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics with a thesis examining the business implications of the implementation a major furniture brand’s Code of Conduct in the Chinese supply chain. He has a background as a programmer and entrepreneur in the internet sector.
